Chim's going in for a new clutch tomorrow but the release bearing supplied is the metal ring type with no plastic built on? I think its the right type but does anyone know for sure?

Its a '95 400 with a T5 box.

Many thanks

I changed my clutch a few weeks ago and found this out.

You have a rover SDi plastic carrier with inbulit self centering thrust bearing. Rpi on ebay sells them.

However after a bit of research I found out that they have a habit of melting in TVR's due to the high temperatures.

TVR Power supply a replacement bearing carrier which is around £50. This then holds the ring bearing I assume you already have.

The clutch arm will not fit across the guide pins so will need some careful reduction in length with an angle grinder.

I would replace the clutch arm as Cmr2payne lost his clutch on a Euro Trip - the Mounting pins wear through the arm and pops out the other side.

Be careful not to trap the copper clutch pipe between the engine and bell housing when re assembling.
