i have a 4.0 hc chimaera 1994 and have noticed that the bottom red led light is constantly on when driving. my oil pressure gauge seems to be ok as it shows around 50-60 psi while driving normally but when i stop the car and leave the engine running on tick over the light goes off. all i can say is i have just fitted a new battery and was wondering if i might have knocked something on the wiring loom next to the battery when i changed it.
any comments please.......

Do you know which light it is? The red ones are normally alarm or alternator / ign. Most of the oil pressure warnings are yellow, but it is known for them to have been reassembled incorrectly.

according to the bible this is the oil warning pressure led but on some chimaeras they say its the alternator light but i thought the alternator light was the middle one which is an amber colour.

When mine came on it was due to the 100 amp fuse being blown. It's held in a black plastic case, on the chassis, around by the starter. Well mine was (95 N reg 400). HTH

If you are in any doubt... Take the time to identify the oil & alt lights by pulling the connectors at the alt/switch off when the ign is on, the lights should go out, and come on when you touch them to ground.

It is Oh so important to know which these are wink
