Hi, as promised in the other thread re delivery, here's a pic of my new pride and joy
As some of you'll be aware in another thread, I was in two minds about whether to collect the bike or have it delivered. After the morning started with a snowstorm I didn't want to ride it home so decided to drive over to Fife to pay for the bike and arrange to have it delivered.
However halfway through, we could see it brightening up so did a U turn to get my gear and swap to my mates car as I thought stuff it..I just can't wait need to ride it home TODAY. By the time I got to the dealer the sun was shining and after 20 mins I was in biking heaven with my first proper bike
From passing my DAS last September now to this - a little tired / cold after the 50 miles ride but well worth it!
Just need to get through the running in for the first 600 miles, was frustrating as I was passed by loads of people who was wondering why I was taking it easy. Felt right at home with the bike as it's so easy to ride, so absolutely chuffed to bits. Roll on summer

I think the toughest thing I had to deal with today apart from applying self control running it in was not to stack it coming out of the forecourt to add to the YouTube video count
My mate constantly reminded me of this fact so I was under a wee bit pressure not to launch myself into a fence!

Well done, Lovely looking bike,
Enjoy the bike, just in time for the summer ??? to start
No, I'll be riding this as much as can starting now

The earlier the summer arrives the better, albeit sunny dry weather...not the bleeding gale force winds and floods we got last year

Could do with some heavy rain to clean the roads up a bit.
Get yourself FS365 or similar to prtect the metalwork of the bike from corrosion.

I bought the bike from Cupar Motorcycles - a nice bunch of people to deal with so worth checking out. You're right, there's plenty of scenic roads to take over there.
This Gixxer 6 is my second bike, I ran a CG125 for 3 months last summer to get much needed practice before passing my DAS. Learned on the Kawasaki ER5 which is an upright bike and comfy to sit on but felt heavier than the GSXR - the low centre of gravity gives the bike a very good balance. Needs revs to perform and it's very flighty and agile, so very confidence inspiring to jump on straight away.
I would say that for those who pass their DAS, you can't go wrong with this. Either this or the Street Triple which is another incredible bike for any newbie - so tractable engine with plenty of torque for town work and confidence inspiring in the twisties.
As I'll be staying away from built up roads most of the time anyway so for me the GSXR was the preferred bike. Plus it does look stunning so the decision was made to go for the Suzuki

, but like slim_boy_fat mentioned I am selective with the days I ride to avoid the salt as much as possible
I am too lazy to be ontop of the cleaning needed otherwise

Can't see pics at work
is it the K7 or K8?
It's a K7, bought for £5995 plus a few bits and bobs for free. Not bad considering people are still advertising used K6 models for £5k. Gonna be keeping this for at least 3 years so will concentrate doing some extra training to brush up my riding.
