Hi all

I have a Cerbera 4.5 LW which until has been behaving very well. However, after not being used for 5 weeks I have started to hear a stange 'creaking'/'knocking' noise from the drivers side rear wheel area. It seems to be more prominent when slowing down/accelerating. I only hear it when going slow (the sports exhaust probably drowns out the noise going fast!) and can also hear it when I push up and down on the boot above the wheel. Also, I swear I heard a scraping noise when cornering quite fast the other day.

Any ideas? Should I be concerned!

Probably is the exhaust. I have had the thing tweaked on several occasions as I found when I took a right hander a knocking noise ocurred. If you get underneath your car and look along the exhaust run you should see some knock marks. If this is what it is your local friendly TVR technician should be able to sort in a jiffy. I know that it is disconcerting to hear the noise but hopefully for you that is all it is.

If not the exhuast then it could be the anti-rollbar bush, or perhaps the handbrake cable (tiewrapped to the upper suspension arm - it can break and catch the half shaft, as mine has/does) Failing that perhaps the anti-roll bar connecting rod has snapped (as has mine and many other peoples, I'm told)

Hope these suggestions help - not really serious things to put right. Good luck...

Thanks all - I'll look into each of these. Have just had a new sports exhaust fitted so it may be a possibility.

The thing that puzzles me is that it only does it when the car has been out and about for a while...

Just found link to similar problem, sounds like I'm not the only one squeeking!
