Even though we are before the watershead...

I have heard 2 stories that relate to this...

1/ I know a man that ajusted (or removed) the foam cussion in the pillon seat of his 1960's vesper and removed the rubber dampers so that the 'good' vibrations would travel more effectivly through the seat the faster he want. He said that he often had to stop so that he could hop over walls with his pillion. I have a feeling he wasn't talking about high-sides either.

2/ During the WWII I new a man in the RCT that was delivering messages as a courier in the desert. He said that early on they did everything on Motorbikes and there were about 3 different makes. One of which was universally lothed because it vibrated and rattled so much. Anyway, Women Army Volenteers arrived and all the blokes immidiatly gave the crappy bikes to the women... WHO LOVED THEM!!! Even later in the war when Jeeps were taking over some women were aparently close to mutiny over the removal of their bikes.
