Just about to start (CBT next Saturday) and I'm wondering what kind of fitness is desirable for bike riding and which muscle groups get used the most.
I'm not too fit at the moment, though in the past it's never taken me long to get so. Just wondering where to focus my effort.
Thoughts?

Biking will increase your level of fitness. I used to be ugly, fat, bald, out of shape etc....Now I'm more of an Arnie, Brad, Becks type of appearance.....Works wonders really....
Why is everyone posting how fat they are then?
Oh well, there goes my excuse that biking is an aceptable alternative to the gym
I am sure I would have been caught out eventually
Biking definitely makes you fitter.
This was me before my CBT:

And after "the super CBT enhancement programme" I now look like this:

In all seriousness, my legs felt a little stiff after my CBTs, so I imagine that any leg exercises you can do would help - particularly if you're gripping the tank all the time. I can't imagine any upper body work being needed, as I guess you shouldn't be hanging onto the handlebars with a death grip - "less is more" after all
