Cor-Vette FireBlade
Designer thinks Corvette too boring - makes more aggressive
Are you the kind of person who thinks the new Corvette ZR1 looks a bit too, well, Corvette-like?
Do you yearn for something a bit meatier, a little bit more aggressive?
If the answer is 'yes' then South African designer Idries Noah has come to the rescue with the new FireBlade concept.
The thinking behind the car is that it will ‘reflect raw power’, said Mr Noah, and is a ‘brute of a car that has muscle car qualities’.
It is said to have been inspired by cars such as the Shelby Daytona and Corvette Stingray, but as present is only a fantasy concept and is unlikely to ever make production.
This should also ensure that Mr Noah doesn’t get too many phone calls from the Honda Motorcycle Naming Department…

Love the clear engine cover, more cars should have this. Although then they'd have to stop covering the engines in plastic shrouds...
Presumably they don't because (in every car I've owned, that I recall) the engine bay is open to the elements, so the cover would get covered in crud and scratches.Anyone with a Fezza care to disclose how well they wear?

Starting to get pished off with these 'fantasy' concepts...Stop feckin' teasing us!
It's a shame that there aren't more coachbuilding services out there who could do this for us directly. I'm sure things like Ultima's and Elise's etc.. could look pretty good with re-designed bodies and maybe they could get passed under SVA's.
Personally I'd like an Ultima GTR with a body similiar to the Mazda Furai:

Of course, danger is you could always end up with this:

Also I'd love to see how they'd get away with the crease up the middle of the windscreen, looks wicked though.
the only two parts of the car i actally like, its a nice line, but the rest is to fussy for me, prefere a standard ZR1 thank you very muchAlso I'd love to see how they'd get away with the crease up the middle of the windscreen, looks wicked though.

Glad you picked up the FireBlade bit- I'm sure Honda would have something to say!!!
I'm having an attack of the inner geek... I can't help it... it's actually the Honda Fireblade now, they dropped 'FireBlade' a few years ago. Something to do with the fact that it's no longer designed by an Italian.Edited by MrKipling43 on Monday 7th April 17:02
