The tick over in my Chimaera is erratic, fluctuating from 1100rpm to stalling. Any ideas why? I,ve removed, cleaned and replaced the stepper motor, doesn't seem to make any real difference.

Just driven 20 miles all OK, parked up for 5-10 minutes and the problem was there. Temperature gauge @ 90, fans are working.

Help urgently needed as dont fancy sitting in traffic at Brunters with it stalling each time I stop.

Lambda sensors are another good place to look.

We have this problem occasionally in the Chimaera and it turned out to be one of the smart chips in the engine management system getting itself in knots. It passed after the engine was turned off and restarted, but reoccurs now and then. I realise that may not help but just a thought.

Mine was the connector on the air flow meter, give it a wiggle.
