Bulkhead bearing..

Got my new bearing through at the weekend, had today off so started dismantling, am now at the point where another set of hands is needed.... so its on hold for an hour or two till a friendly neighbour gets back from work... but

Been using the great discription from the s series site, only thing is, i only have 4 bolts fixing the bearing to the bulkhead, once i get the last one free i should be able to see things clearer but i'm now concerned the bearing kit i have might be wrong, it looks like the one on the website... did this part change does anyone know? If so, will this fit or am i left sans steering for a while?

The replacement bearings only have four holes and are the same PCD as the orginal. Pick any four of the five holes and bolt it on, doesn't seem to make any difference. I managed to change mine single handed with a socket and T Bar on the bolt in the footwell.

Mine was much thinner too - I wondered if it was worth using the old bearing housing again with the new parts - when if have your head stuffed in the footwell, check the clearance bewteen the clutch pedal assembly and the steering shaft - mine had a touch.

Yep it's fiddly but possible to do it yourself.

I used allen bolts to put it back on and that was a doddle.
