Hi
I wondered if anyone one can help me . I noticed at the weekend that my airbag warning light on my 04 A4 Avant TDI did not go out after initial start up and stays lit up. I've had a look in the owner's manual and it advises you to take it immediately to your Audi dealer which I am slightly reluctant to do as I would imagine I'd be relieved of a few hundred quid in the process. Obviously if this is a serious safety issue I would want it sorted asap but I thought I'd ask on here first for any advice.

My apologies if this topic has been covered before but a quick search did not reveal anything.

Thanks in advance

I had a similar problem on my S4 B5 last year. Not sure about newer models, but we were told it maybe the wires under the seats (when moving the seat back or forth)sometimes pulling the plugs slightly loosens the connection giving a higher resistance reading However it turned out to be an abs sensor, which i had done when it was serviced and it has been fine since.

Hope this helps

Get someone with vagcom to have a look for you.
That will tell you exactly what the issue is, it may even re-set it for you.

I had this on my A3 when it was about 2 months old.... Turned out to be a faulty crash sensor (like I need a sensor to tell me I've crashed lol!! )

Hi John...didn't expect to see you pop up here!!

Not sure if you know them but I use MS Autos at Biddenden for my A4 Avant TDi. Mike Summers is very experienced and specialises only in VAG motors. He has the latest Audi software and a quick visit there will sort you out.

I gave up a long time ago on Audi Maidstone......£107 an hour plus VAT for labourbandit. The service was lousy also.
