X6 On The M3

RHD version of new BMW SUV spotted on the motorway

The BMW X6 is everywhere at the moment but so far we haven’t heard of many RHD versions being spotted.

PHer Ed Howard-Bearder spotted this one on the M3 this week and it even had the badge taped up to disguise the brand.

What you will notice is that it has roof bars, which don’t seem to be standard fitment on the X6s being tested by the UK’s motoring mags.

From the tailpipes it looks like this one may be a diesel version too.

We can't help thinking that from the rear view it's going to be difficult to see out of the back.

Thanks to Ed for sending them in!

There was a burgundy X6 in Penn over the weekend (South Bucks). Nice car, and I think, RHD.

Lots of people will be blinded by the badge and unable to see what an ugly vehicle that is.

This is standard BMW policy I belive - it means that here in Oxford, you can see completely undisguised MINI variants driving around with a little bit of tape over the badge right up to the day before the official launch, despite every detail being known about the car long before.

Only slight changes from the ones I spotted at the 'Ring last year - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkUQyWdnRm8

Am I alone in thinking that the 3/4 view looks a bit Dodge Kaliber?

Don't really like it. Don't really think there's any point in it either...

erm....? There you go.

We all know it'll sell by the bucketload, because, although there's no justifiable reason for it, it's big and "sporty", so as a "stylish" alternative to the X5 (which let's face it, is far more popular than it has any right to be), it'll have the suburban mum's queuing round the corner.

I just fear for anyone who gets caught in the massive rear blind spot - anything under 5 foot high (e.g. pram, little old lady, MX5) will be invisible...

Your typical BMW driver will never notice.

Rear view mirror? That for checking hair/make-up/tie/cheesey smile.

I agree. Pointless market sector and an ugly car.

I sometimes wonder about the point of roof bars on an SUV. Is there an integrated stepladder to get stuff in and out of the roofbox? It was hard enough on my 5 series estate.

Has to be one of hte ugliest cars I've seen for quite a while.

You can gurantee that the average driver will be a middle aged woman as well.
