Carb Specialist South Coast?

Me and Mr. Holley's Instrument of the Devil (double pumper) have fallen out quite badly and I need to replace it with a sensible carb with a proper choke.

No problem for me to bolt it on etc. but setting it up is beyond me.

Is there anywhere near the South Coast that could do this? (I'd ask Abbey or Plans but I doubt there've seen a carb for years.....)

You could try Jez Hodge at Custom Power and Paint, he's at Dymchurch near Folkestone. His number is 01797366900, doesn't have a rolling road but can set up a system well, or there's Interpro in Bristol, ask for Dave Griffiths. I've given up on Holleys and have gone more basic with Edelbrocks, so far so good but very early days. Easy as pie to get running though, and jets/rods are easy to change without all the bowl changing palaver that goes with holleys. Watch out for the EFI recommendations, it's an evil black art

Yep! Attempting to thrash the thing into life with the dreaded double pumper and no choke is going to cause terrible trouble with my (very nice and tollerant) neighbours.

If I do this at 5.30AM on the way to a trackday then I,m going to be in deep trouble If there was a smilie for hanging it would be the one!!

Yeah, I think I'm on a yella with mine, but give it a single squirt before the first turn and it runs for a few seconds, the second time even longer and the third should do it!

By the time you have sprinted off down the road they will just put it down to having a bad dream or summink!!

Aaahhh...EFI or LS7...you boyz don't know how good you got it.

I'm thinking that perhaps GTR, carbed cars are the only real mans cars left!!

I have an auto choke on mine but when I start it runs at 2k revs so that is not a winner either.

Ahhh yes i remember the ankle dance on the throttle pedal ,followed by complaints from the neighbours !!!!!

now days i just reach over start the car then nip in to finish my cuppa !!EFI rocks
