Hi Guys,

I stupidly left my headlights on last night and had a flat battery this morning! Anyway, managed to get it going again, but now I have problems with my alarm. The key fob won't work, either of them and I can only start the car by turning off the alarm with the plug-in immobiliser fob. What can I do about this? Does the alarm need re-setting? It's a nightmare and the alarm keeps going off, even when I'm driving along! It's a 97 facelift chim with the standard Meta alarm and 2 new key fobs re-programmed by Carl Baker.

Thanks in advance for your help guys.

I've heard that if you disconnect the car battery for a while, it'll go through a reset. (It's a cheap thing to try for starters anyway!)

ETA just spoken to Carl and he's told me to disconnect the negative for a few minutes, reconnect and it should reset. I'll keep you posted!

Its normal for the alarm to go haywire with a flat battery. Disconnect battery earth for 5 seconds, reconnect then immediately press one of the plippers. Should lock/unlock then all will be well.
