Can someone please give me a definitive answer on the following:
If a CSL (or any BMW for that matter) lapses out of warranty (new car warranty or extended warranty) this warranty can never be renewed?

I know with Porsche, as long as the car is less than 9 years old and has done less than 90k or so, if the car lapses out of warranty a 111-point check can be done at an Official Porsche Centre (for about £200) and as long as the car passes or any problems are rectified first, they will give you an extended warranty.

Once it's lapsed it's lapsed.

Sorry.

Is that also true for non-BMW warranties that can be purchased (eg. Warranty Direct)?

I know a few CSL owners that have gone down this route and been quite happy with the cover they purchased. WD have actually been helpful to them on occasion they've needed to claim, but remember it's only an insurance policy.

And I guess at that point any warranty is better than no warranty ... I guess. As long as they pay out.

A BMW Dealer contacted me about purchasing my car to resell and they did say they would put BMW warranty back on it. So there is a way but just not open to us mortals...

When it's sold by a dealer then the warranty goes back on.

But not if it's your car already hehe

This is ste, so i buy a used car(not from bm dealer)and there is no way of putting a bmw warranty on it?????????? THATS PANTS!

So what do bm say when you go in there and ask for this? No we dont, get out!

If i find a well looked after car do i need a warranty because.

A) Boy your going to need it!

B) Peace of mind?

I'm led to believe that BMW are close to changing their policy on this.
