Quick post to get opinions on the following.

Just purchased some calipers for my BMW and they are about to get sent off for powder-coating.

Questions is: I have a silver M3 Conv (with Hardtop) and am undecided on what colour I should go for on the calipers.

I think that yellow would be nice, however I've just been told that is far too boy racer!

What does everyone think?

If the wheels are silver keep the calipers silver. Simple. Are you having your disks nickel plated too!

Not decided yet, but seriously thinking about having them plated. Spoke to Gerry and looked at some pics and they do look the business.

Mine is going in for wheel refurb, caliper fitting and poss the discs as well.

Is yours the M5 that's going in - he mentioned he was getting one in shortly.

Still undecided on the colour of the calipers. Thinking now of black with the M logo painted on.

To keep the car looking as new and without cheapening the look i would stick with factory silver.
Anything else looks like youre showing them off to your mates at McDonalds.

the anodised pale gold nickel looks good because some OEM stuff comes like that, therefore neatly dodging the Barry Boy effect

I am not going to add my opinion here but feel the best colour options on a silver car to be;
1. Red, looks good but can appear you are faking Brembo's and is very common
2. Black, (see pic of last set I did below) looks great through bright clean wheels and subtle

3. Gold, makes calipers look like new, but not particularly special,
4. Silver, as above gold but needs dark or black wheels to show it off.

Just my styling opinion!

They have my car at the moment. Silver calipes, M logo painted, and disks being coated too, stopping rust and looking great! No loss of performance and they are replacing all of my piston seals too!

Can't wait to see and experience the results.

It must have been yours that he was talking about.

My calipers are now with them and the car goes there in a couple of weeks to have the calipers swapped over and the wheels sorted. I do want the discs plated but will have to see how the finances are first.

Think I am going to go for straight black after seeing the ones above and get the M logo handpainted on by Gerry as well.

Should look the business.
