I can't believe that a car like this could cover 688 miles in 9 years!! If I was ever fortunate enough to be able to own one of these i'd cover that in an afternoon!! http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/446865.htm

I hate to think what the depreciation equates to if you calculate it on a cost per mile basis!

What a total and utter shocking waste for a GT car....

Bet it will need some attention, things like a/c, power steering etc dont like not being use, the seals dry out. I personaly may consider this a bit of a liability.

I thought the whole point of the 456 was that it was more... 'Useable?'

Great ad ... no price!

Like has been said, double-edged sword. It will be immaculate, but how much work to strip it as necessary to bring it back into service.

For a car to use, I would be very wary.

For a car to stick in bubble wrap in a collection (as the current owner must have done), who knows. Sat on the lawn at Pebble Beach in 50yrs' time with 700 miles on it, it's likely to get a lot of cooing and might be worth a fortune.

I was thinking about that. That means that an afternoon run out(say 100 miles)would cost £15000!!

A dealer in Switerland that I used to live quite close to had a brand new un-registered 456M GT in stock for several years until recently... He used to advertise it at list price and then I looked again and then all of a sudden, he had marked it down by circa 40%. A year later it had gone although I've no idea where and for how much.

Most expensive one on autotrader is 60k. X-reg with 6.6k miles. But should be discounted bearing in mind who's advertising it!

I would imagine the owner would think this one is worth more than that being pretty much delivery miles. But I'm not convinced.

Again it depends what you want it for.

With 612s under 100k now, getting much more than 60k for a 9yr old car would be difficult I think.

Remember, Ferraris do not appreciate being stood around unused for long periods.

Edited to correct typo that got the profanity checker confused!

If it was a manual it would possibly be worth some kind of premium as M GT Manuals are relatively rare I understand.

However, there are plenty of Autos out there in the 456M GT spec, so as others have said, it's probably more of a liability than anything else - probably got flat spots on the tyres for starters!

As long as it's sold with a warranty does it matter?

Is it just me, but I didn't think the 456 was a 'classic' worth keeping immaculate.

I mean the only reason to keep a 'time machine' car like that is to keep it like a time machine in someone's climate controlled garage.

It is just not the type of car to sit and look at.
