Chaps,

in order to seal paintwork to get long-lasing protection, do you use a sealant after the polish, or carnauba wax over the polish and then sealant over this?

And when washing the car, what do you use in order to avoid stripping it all off again; ad then do you apply another layer of carnauba and then sealer, or just sealer, or do you have to strip it off and go from the polish stage all over again?

Complete amateur at this, so could use any advice! Want to get my car ready for sale, but also to do it properly so that there is a long-lasting finish when it leaves my ownership, rather than just being tarted up for sale...

Thank you for your advice,

Harry.

Polish a couple of times a year, add a glaze (no protection but a great look), seal two or three times a year and then wax.

A decent wax will withstand 8 or so weeks of washing plus driving, so no need to re apply wax after each wash. Decent shampoos will NOT strip wax, but building up a couple of coats is hugely beneficial.

polish once a year. there's no need to do more than this if you are washing and drying correctly. then after washing claybar the car. then polish, then seal, then add a wax layer if you wish.

then it's just a case of maintenance. wash ever week and wax every 6 or when the car needs it.
