I have just moved my rolling road time from 1000hrs to 1200 on saturday at Austec, which is near Gatwick,so they may have a free slot, may be worth a try.

Thanks for all the posts, I'm new to the rolling road thing, and all I want is for my Mark Adams chip to be properly set up with my new cam etc, so any ideas on labour costs?
To Vixpy1, can you at surrey rolling road do the tuning aspect also?

If your after a re-map then only Mark Adams can map his own chips. If your just after a set up and check of timing, fuelling etc, then any good rolling road can set this up to the optimum, hence Vixpy would be your mansmile

We would be in the same position as anybody else in thay we would not be able alter any of the mapping settings as Mark Adam's chips are encrypted. Yes we could check & alter the timing but this would not really achieve anything unless you can alter the mapping accordingly i.e fuelling.

So at this point you do not need a rolling road unless you purely want to know how much power your engine is producing which does not appear to be what you are asking for. Your best bet is to contact Mark Adams & see if he can slot you in before you go to Germany, we can make our rollers available if Mark is in the area. Hope this helps smile

The op asked for a rolling road set up initially, surely in order to best optimise the timing, and check the fuelling, you'll be able to do this better on a rolling road?He hasn't asked for a re-map,so any decent rolling road could perform the set up.

I think you need to define the word 'set up'. I take this to mean the ability to check & then adjust any highlighted areas to optimise performance, tuning if you like.

In the scenario we have here, if a rolling road check is carried out & found that the engine is overfuelling, at say 3000rpm, & it is the map that is causing this, how do you suggest we alter an encrypted map?

As I have said the timing can be altered ,if it is incorrect, but only if that does not result in exceeding the fuelling tolerances of the chip.

We recently had a similar scenario when one of our customers had his main cat replaced by another garage on his Griff which resulted in the Tornado chip mapping overfuelling. Due to Mark Adam's workload & the customer being booked on a track day we ended up removing the Tornado chip & installing our own one.

I do hope that, at whichever garage the OP uses, there are no issues found in which case he will have a nice new power run print out.

I see your point Richard,by 'set up'i would want timing optimised, and fuelling checked, all on a RR.This would mean the optimum ignition performance could be had,and also a check for correct fuelling which would indicate fuel pressure and afm etc are all ok.This would be what i would define as a basic set up,from which point it could be established if all is well.Mapping is another issue, which could be looked into if desired, depending on what the 'set up' reveals.
