Uncle

It's enabled on mine, and given your loom is very similar to mine I can work out from the config file how it is done. We would need to make sure which pin it is on, but if you're wondering Dave sorted mine for me yesterday.

Only posted it up in case anyone one else was interested as it has been a topic of debate for some time and I wanted to keep it in the system rather than finding an alternative with vents and tubes wink

I'd check you have your purge valve connected first... I asked the guys at Top Gear Automotive about it when I was there last and it seems 99% of cars will have theirs already blocked off. This is because they apparently caused a lot of trouble with tank venting so most TVR garages just took off the vent and blocked up the plenum hose with a bolt. He then reached up into the mouth of the car while it was on the lift and sure enough, mine had been blocked up long ago. So great idea wiring it up to the Emerald, but it will be pointless if the thing is purging nothing so check first!

I know my purge is connected, the cannister replaced, the purge valve itself replaced and the connection to the tank working and the one to the plenum..

Add to that I had my loom built so I could run it from the Emerald I'm happy, but fair advice for others .. .

Bless those cowboy garages who decide the best way to fix something is to take it out of the system rather than making it work properly in the first place, 'bodge it and scarper' at £120 per hr "cos it's a TVR mate" !

I couldn't be arsed to hook mine up so was relieved when I found it was disconnected! I've removed the hose from the plenum and put a bung in it, then am going to remove the CC and cut the vent pipe back to the bottom of the tank so it can vent down there. Should be ok as theres a non return valve by the fuel filler neck thumbup

I spoke to Rob at V8D, who did the actual fitting of my Emerald.

The custom loom came with a wire to opperate the CC, which he connected.

He said that Paul Dove was the man to speak to as he should know what pin that wire went to, etc.

I haven't managed to speak to Paul yet. Are you local to him? Maybe he has a diagram that you could get off him and post?

I originally asked for a wiring diagram to be supplied with the new loom, but forgot all about it when I picked the car up. It would be useful for fault finding in years to come.

Johno, you said you could see in the config. file how it worked. Do you mean in the map, or something else? If it's in the map where is it and what do I look for. If its not the map, what do you mean?

Paul's only 20 miles up the road and came over on Tuesday for the mapping session, he's a top fella. . . I had a look round your car when it was at his workshop. I imagine he has used the same pin's as mine and Simon's.

The config file, is part of the map, but you can save it seperately allowing you to change configurations of the ECU without affecting the actual map etc . .

I'll take a look in a bit hopefully as only just walked in the door from sunny Scotland and I'm foooked . .

My guess it will be either the VVC or AirCon outputs being invoked and used on some rev/load conditions being satisfied. Think Spend and Eliot have described the appropriate conditions pretty fully in previous discussions. I have left the tail in place for the CC valve and tried grounding it to see whether there were any relay type noises going on...cou'dn't hear anything but I'd be surprised if it wasnything more elaborate than a switched earth from the ECU end as stock... most other things seem to be. Can't get my fat hand far enough in to verify whether mine has been bodged (I did once get a purge fault code show on my reader however but suspect that doesn't mean a great deal)

Can you get access to the canister from the wheel arch panel where you change the bulb

Not easily on mine, there's an access panel behind the washer bottle that makes it easier.

I had a look in my map but the A/C and the VTEC control are switched off. It can't be on the A/C as I specifically asked for the wiring to control the A/C to be included in the loom.

Since the car came back I haven't regassed the A/C to test it. DNB is working on a new heater box design and we are going to use my car to develop the A/C version. Therefore we would have to degas it again in a few weeks.

Every time I look at the Emerald program I spot something I hadn't noticed before, but I still haven't spotted the config file as a seperate thing. Were is it?

Did you mod the fuel cap Mike or just not closing the cap fully ?

It's not a seperate file, you can save it as a seperate file.

It is controlled through User Output 1, PWM control is where you can set the conditions. I just need to check which pin for you and how you turn it on etc . . . Not going to be until tomorrow now.
