better than the £400 i was expecting.

I resisted a smirk when my Grandma paid more tax for her Skodia Fabia 1.2 than I did for my Tuscan

For some reason this site doesn't seem to be working properly on my browser - probably ANOTHER site that hasn't been tested on a Mac, anyway....

Can someone post up the results for a T350. Or are they the same?

BTW - select a T350 from the list (and then specify 'T' or 'C') - and then hit "search". Then, click the TVR T350 from the Recently Viewed panel on the left. Check out the Summary section:

Pros: Eats Porsches, makes schoolboys yelp.
Cons: Eats tyres, burns petrol.

AFAIK all TVR's are considered to be PLG and are £185.

Right on with exactly the same Tuscan and Year here. Also my Clio 172 of 2000yr also pays the same. Do wonder how long it'll last! I swaer they said something about cars prior to 2001yr with over 3litre engines paying the highest band amount of the new taxes, but hopefully I am dreaming it!

Hmm...the calculator is pretty rubbish - only does certain models.....

When Searching it seems that there may be no data for CO2 for TVR's...

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/eimanual/EIM23360.h...

so in that case I assume this applies...

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/eimanual/EIM23415.h...

Which gives us to have 35% of something?!

"For cars first registered on 1 January 1998 or later that do not have an approved CO2 emissions figure the appropriate percentage used to calculate the car benefit charge is based on engine size."

Is it this %??

http://www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk/search/companyCar...

Giving us 245 CO2 (g /km).....meaning we would be in band G....meaning £400.

http://www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk/search/vedSearch....

Phew that was hard work.

£400 squid?! The bastids! frown

So pretty much anyone with a car registered after 1998 with no C02 data is gonna get the £400 charge by the looks of it, regardless of being pre 2001... even if the other bit said it was £185. Confusing! Whatever, we can be sure that the highest charge there is, that'll be what we get hit with.

Bugger.

That's all for company car tax, nothing to do with RFL.

TVR's are not included in the emissions scheme and as far as RFL goes are simply charged as PLG. Curr £185, then going to £200. Year of manufacture of tvrs are irrelevant.

No doubt we will see a decent return on our £15 - either improved roads or our own glacier/rainforest.

Is this definite? Do you have a link to a government website which verifies this please?
Whilst not doubting you, I'm considering a 2001 / 2002 Tuscan myself but if the £400 tax is a reality, then I'd change my mind and go for a 2000 model.
I need to be 100% sure on the taxation class (and more importantly road fund cost) before I buy anytyhing.
Cheers,
L33.

Cars registered after march 01 are subject to emmisions bands and are taxed as such, those before that date are banded on engine size, above and below 1600cc.....had this covered over on the subaru sites,as you would expect they are worried due to the high emissions the cars have, there is a quirk in the legislation that also scams older cars if they are imported and registered after 2001,so a 1997 sti impreza would be hammered for the full £400 if it was imported after the 2001 cut off date even though it was built way before, any excuse to shaft the motorist......
