Is anyone using a shift lift on their chim? if yes which one have you got?

Im thinking about linking one up to the unused bulb at the bottom of the rev counter.

BB's done that mod on his Griffith with the install of his Emerald and it work's very well.

Mine didn't have the spare so I have put 3 LED's into the teering column cowl. They are clear, flush to the cowl and unless you were looking for them you wouldn't notice them. They are driven from the Emerald ECU.

Are you looking for a driver unit for them as well ?

Most of them come with a light unit to stick on top of the dash which will also give you graded display . . Perhaps you could find one without graduated output and then cut of their light and wire in your own ?

Ive seen a few shift lights in demon tweeks working off the coil which look ok but i was wondering would it be possible to pick up from the feed at the back of the rev counter?

It should be: it's effectively two ends of the same wire.

Can anyone confirm the following for fitting a shift light

Ground wire colour
Ignition wire colour
Tacho signal wire colour

Or is it whatever was in the draw at the time.

Well - you will need an ECU like the Emerald to earth the + feed to the shift light ..

No idea how you would do it on a 14CUX.

Set my shift light to it's lowest point yesterday (2000 rpm) and it worked.. low value is because I could not be bothered to wait for the engine to warm up..

Dont worry about the ECU, its fuel control only, so no use for a shift light at all. You will need the -ve side of the coil or back of the revcounter for a trigger point.

Hi Ben

The tacho wire is white/blue trace under the bonet and just where the loom gromet is it changes in the connector to a white/brown or white/black cant remember exactly to back of tacho.

you should beable to find the power off the tacho or speedo.

I used an OMEX shift light, its very easy to install and you can change the shift point. The light is very clear and they do two models with either a single light or a series of LED's that light as you approach the shift point.

So you know when your shifting wobble

(it comes on at speeds more than 20% over legal limit)

My car makes it peak power at 6k which is bang on the rev limiter so it gives me a warning before the limiter kicks in.
