Technical Internal Sales Engineer Needed - W Sussex

Looking for a Technical Internal Sales Engineer for our offices in Crawley.
The company is involved in Electronics Component Distribution, specifically Frequency Control Products.
Looking for some sales desk experience, preferably at Electronic Component level and a technical electronics qualification (Degree preferred). The person needs to be able to discuss products with end customers design engineers and offer technical solutions / advice.
Main responsibilities:
•Train and gain experience both in the product and services offered, plus the market and expectations of their customers.
•Assist the Operations Director to respond to sales enquiries and in the preparation of offers.
•Assist the Operations Director to manage orders from customers and raise orders on sub-suppliers
•Prepare technical dossiers for hand-over to our Field Application Engineers.
•Assist in the preparation of sales and marketing documentation, on paper and via e-systems.
•Prepare a regular news-letter and suggest/assist in other initiatives.
•Build up relationships with suppliers and key contacts with customer's
•Any other tasks as may be required
This list is only indicative. There is plenty of scope for the employee to contribute creatively to the success of the company and to use their initiative.
Future development:
After initial training period (duration dependant on experience) the Internal Technical Sales Engineer will start to work more autonomously from the Operations Director, managing the sales office issuing quotations and directly answering customer enquiries, this will progressively involve external meetings with clients.
Within two years, it is envisaged that the employee will develop from the internal role, to that of a full field Sales Engineer, responsible for canvassing prospects, visiting prospects and customers, developing sales enquiries, obtain orders, promote the company and its products, undertake marketing studies, develop marketing and sales strategies, track customer contacts.
Salary 20~25K + bonus, phone, Laptop
