Basically, about 2 months ago i posted on here about my engine seizing. the problem was the little end bearing had completely disintigrated, which caused the engine to seize. I took it to a garage for someone proffesional to sort out, the mechanic then found loads more faults such as brakes, fraid cables, forks and the chain and sprockets. (All the fundamentals then!) MOT is coming up soon so thought id get everything done at once, but thought id get all the parts myself to keep the costs down. I sourced all the parts and the mechanic has had them all for about 3 weeks but is still yet to finish!! This seems a bit long for me especially seeing as i have no other modes of transport. Is this time period normal? Im assuming its not, so how do you think i could help speed up the repair?

Cheers

Offering to pay him the extra margin he would have got from selling you the parts will probably put you back on the priority list wink

Seriously, most tradesmen will set prices taking both labour and parts profits into account, and taking half of that away will not endear you to him. He will do just as good a job, but you'll probably fit into the slightly lower urgency category.
