x308 scratched windscreen / windscreen replacement

In a rush yesterday morning I used an ice scrapper on my XJR8 windscreen. I didn't realise that building sand from an extension next door had frozen within the frost and I've managed to leave scratches up and down the windscreen (noticable when the sun is shining through)

I guess I can claim on my insurance but I'm worried about the heated front screen etc. Has anyone had their x308 windscreen replaced before and are there any problems with doing so?

There are no specific problems with the windscreen replacement on the XJR.

There are a few variations though on what can be fitted as standard for 95 on cars. The rain sensor option is only avaiable on 99 on cars:

Plain tint, no extras
Tinted and heated
Tinted, with rain sensor for automatic wipers
Tinted, heated and rain sensor

The bright trims are normally reuseable.

Your insurance should cover the full cost less an excess of £50-70 and it will not have an effect on your NCB.
