When is the XKR-R 5.0 due for release?

Nope.

Two guesses, either end of this year as a launch date, available to buy from March '09, or launch at the Geneva motorshow in March with deliveries from Spet '09.

Don't think there will be an XKR-R. Think it will just be the 4.2 ditched in favour of the 5.0ltr, in 380BHP for the XK and 500BHP for the XKR.
