It's chaos, the town's traffic is normally bad due to it being the biggest town I can think of without a by-pass and the piss poor timing of the lights that force you to stop at EVERY SINGLE ONE but for the next 12 weeks the borough council have gone one further, by closing the main artery through the town centre (Saint Marys Street/Dogpole)

How's 45 minutes for a 1.5 mile journey in an afternoon grab you?

You've not visited Northampton have you...

Would be nice to see where Town councils recruit their road planning bods.
Nationally I read on here and the other place of local routes being utterly ballsed up in the name of modernsation, might be nice if Once if was planned by locals,

(for local people)

Only 3/4 of it, so if going for west to north or vice versa you have no option but to travel through the town centre. The inner ring road is the same, only covers the same 3/4 as the outer bypass.

Full of a succession of nasty roundabouts rather than proper grade separated junctions as well due to being built on cheap! frown

We were in Shrewsbury last night. The locals seem to think that the changes will have to be, erm, changed.

Did you see that red MR2 based F355 replica driving round? Looked a bit sad.

I think the local council is determined to kill off the trade in the town centre rolleyes

They'll be trying cobblestones again soon.....now most people have forgotten the last £1million cock-up!
