Not sure if you will be able to tell frm the photographs or not but does anyone know what type of exhausti have on my new Sport Racer??? Jeff at CN did tell me but i was that excited i asked the question but then didnt listen to his answer.
Someone did post last week that i needed to get rid of the standard exhaust and replace it with something more beefier well to my surprise it already had a more beefier exhaust on it. The pictures i had previously posted were archived pics.
The exhaust is absolutely awesome and makes a massive difference to how the car feels and sounds. It really does feel like a sports car. Perhaps that is what was missing from my previous two Lotus?? I think another major plus point is that this car is already run in and it feels so much better than my previous unrun in 111R.
Another thing that made a big difference was following my mate home in his Lotus after picking it up . Previously i have been very nervous putting my foot down and drove very carefully but following someone else in a similar car does help to show what the car can do a little more.

This is what is on now.

Another of what is on now.

This is what was previously on it.

Excellent mate smile I said to get a 2bular in the other thread but TBH they are all much of a muchness. No idea what that one is but if it sounds good then it is good wink

I'm not sure how i got through like 4 months of ownership with the stock exhaust... it is like a different car isn't it!

to answer my own question i have just been reliably informed it is a quicksilver. Does this mean anything to anyone?

The only type of exhaust i know is the one that i feel after 45 minutes on the running machine. It may not be a quicksilver but it is certainly very loud.biggrin

Doesn't look like they come out at same angle as the stock ones, that pic is taken pretty square on from the looks of things and they look like they are pointing down towards the floor somewhat.

I did take the pic square on to be fair and they do seem to point down at the ground a little. Does this indicate an issue?

Not driven the car today as it has been a beer day but cant wait for tomorrow if the weather is good.

I wouldn't have thought so, just someone said they come out at same angle as the stock smile Think I'll be putting some pennies away for a 2bular, although I want one that comes out like on the 111S, either side of the plate.

To be honest mate i have never looked or listened to an exhaust in my life and thought "thats nice". However, driving my new car with this exhaust on it makes a massive difference to the previous cars i have owned. It was funny driving it home yesterday and watching people turning around to look when i was 200 yards behind them.
Monday will be a test of how much i like the exhaust when i do almost 100 miles on the motorway to Leeds in it.

just read your reply again and the tips arent at 90 degrees, they are angled at 45 (i think was never any good at geometry) at school.

I meant that the Quicksilver has 90deg tips. Clearly yours doesn't wink Which is why I think it isn't a quicksilver biggrin

Sorry to hijack the thread, but does anyone know what this one is:

I have been told by Castle that the exhaust I have on my Exige is Stage 1. Having looked through the various bills that came with the service history, I have an invoice for the following from Christopher Neil Ltd:

Part LEXH026 - Sports Exhaust EXH--7 - Unit Price £234.02 excl. VAT.

That looks to me like a Lotus Stage 1 sports exhaust. Took one off my 111r and replaced it with a stage 2.

hi hue and cry, I picked up my sports racer on saturday and it has a very similar exhaust to yours. I'm pretty sure they are both Lotus's stage 1 exhaust. I'm still running my car in so I haven't had the chance to rev it yet but up to around 5k it sounds similar to standard and not particularly loud. The pipes exit at the back just like your pics and are slash cut at a 45 degree angle. They look great imo. However, I negotiated a Lotus stage 2 exhaust as part of the deal. The stage 2 is unsurprisingly louder and lighter and the tail pipes sit flush with the rear diffuser (ie don't protrude at all). Some find that a bit too subtle but personally I think it looks really cool (a friend has one on his exige).

Out of interest what would you do in my position? I negotiated a stage 2. I've got a stage 1. The dealer is in the north east. I live in the south west.

Not sure what you mean by "what would i do"? If you`re asking if i would change the stage two for a stage one then no i wouldnt personally. If mine is a stage one then it is loud enough for me, i dont think i would want anything louder. Just done a 180 mile round trip and have come home looking for the paracetamol!!!
You will have to post some pics of your new wheels.

Hi Guys,
I had a stage 1 fitted on mine, but mine hugged the diffuser a lot closer that the one in the the top piccys. The pipes on mine were straight cut.

http://forums.seloc.org/viewthread.php?tid=162094&...

The link above shows how the stage 1 should be, about halfway down the page, then follow the link.

By your first post though I think its your post on seloc also ?

I'll look forward to having a listen to your Stage 1 exhaust on Sunday's TR. See how much of a difference it makes compared with my standard example.
