If you subscribe to dailysportscar you will have already read this and i won't say too much as it will annoy the owners of that website.

anyway, the ginetta G50 as it stands is a nice british coupe with a V6 however the next version is going to be a zytek engined one!!!

using the 4.0 flat plane V8 from their lemans program detuned to 500hp at 9000rpm and weighing the same as the G50 at the moment (circa 850-900kg) with a six speed sequential box with 3 pedals!!!

i admit it isnt as good looking as a cerb but my god do i want one of these as it sounds very similar to the cerb just modernised tech.

but to quote from the article from mr tomlinson
“It will be a British car, with a British engine it will sound quite nice and it will be ****ing quick! A really quite astonishing car.

Saw one for the first time at Rockingham yesterday. Very good looking car. Looked good from the back as well, but didn't get a picture of the rear....

They certainly do look like CERBS.

I expect TVR would have had a thing or to to say about the styling, had old Nick not F****D up one of the best sportscar styling companies in the world.

DOH!

74k miles maybe more now?? Its going very very well indeed... body off rebuild is on the cards shortly due to chassis rust, but cant fault the cars durability otherwise, doubt many cars would stand up to the competition use whilst being perfectly useable daily drivers... thumbup

Cant wait to see how Ginetta progresses, its just a shame Lawrence didnt end up buying wheeler out... smile Hows the glamourous world of F1 treating you?? biggrin

74k miles good effort... yes it was a shame he didnt get TVR in the end as, ginetta seem to have an endless stream of development and mr lnt seems stuck on a path to make ginetta a leading british brand.

glam world eh? im in the pits at barcelona right now, better than cov i suppose!

itll be interesting to see how ginetta as a roadgoing brand progresses, the 200mph zytek thing maybeout ofmy league but the standard one is firmly in my sights, according to people that have driven it, it handles amazingly butis a right hooligan of a car.

Sounds like my kind of car! thumbup I wish the whole team all the best with this, I really think he has a decent plan for the future and can only see Ginetta going from strength to strength. smile

As for Barcelona - absolutely gutted.. im currently in the delightfully cold/grey wonderous place that goes by the name Stoke, Coventry... BAH!

I think the new Cerbera for me is going to be a GT40 replica with an LS7 onboard. I can't think of anything less crazy being a stepping stone.

I love the look of this G50 but I'd like to see whether the road-going versions retain the styling cues.

I rather thought the new Marcos was going to be the new Cerby but that wasn't to be. Shame because the component-mix was appealing.

I'm rapidly coming round to the thought that I should just buy as cheap a 4.5 I can find and rebuild it from the ground up. I'd like to retain the AJP but I suppose it might even make more sense to do what Brummiewedge did and buy just the cheapest Cerb I can find full-stop.

My time working away ends soon, but I've a baby due in July. I've got the money ready. One day I might have the time too.

How can you compare that to a gorgeous Cerb, that interior looks like something out of a cheap nasty Kiddies pedal car smile

I saw the new Ginetta at Autosport and another testing at Snetterton a few weeks later. They look fantastic and resonably good value for money. Definitely on my list should I ever sell the Cerb.
