I love my Falken 452s in the dry but Supercharged grip in the wet is a bit poor and I couldn't do a dyno run recently because I just got loads of wheelspin.

The front Bridgestones are getting worn so I'm thinking of sticking the Falkens on the front and putting something else on the back. Any ideas from you other FI guys on what to get? The torque just seems to unstick the rears without even trying.

This is quite interesting: www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Grid/ they seem to rate the Falkens highly.

Also, I like the look of my standard wheels, does anyone make an 8.5" or 9" version of original?

I just recently got a few quotes from Camskills. Seem to have the best price on tyres in the country!

I like the look of these and the price is good. What's grip/wear like with FI ?

I know we've been raving about the Falkens but more recently I've come to the conclusion they're not that great.

"Rubbish! They're great tyres, especially in the wet"
"I think you're all being a bunch of complaining girls. Even with FI, I think they grip brilliantly"
"I've got these on and they are brilliant IMHO even though mine's FI."

Whats up Wormus? Falken stopped the endorsement fees or something?!laugh

Mines S/C and although I cant fault the straightline grip of Fulkens they have given a floating feeling to the front and also the car feels like its twisting in the middle when you change direction like the back is loose. Ive played with pressures and suspension settings a bit which does help a little but its still there and I wont press the car to hard having that feeling. Its not tight like it was on the orriginal pirellis. Will try changing the back first to PS2's to see if they are as good as other high powered car owners seem to say they are, plus my mate in an RS6 swears by them and he drives very very hard! eek

I still swear by my Toyo T1R's... just put another pair on the rear. I know thay don't last long, but damn they do the job well (for me).

I like the P Zero`s.
Car feels balanced on them.
Gripwise in a straight line they arn`t great but that`s more down to tyre width IMO.

I have used Toyo T1R's on my Evo 7 and a few others but not sure about putting then on the Monaro.
Now i have 4 new Michelin's on her and now and its perfect. The grip is perfect oven on the fronts.
I cant understand why people would use Falken's anyway or any other cheap tyre at that. Why choose a tyre that makes the car feel like its sliding when cornering all because the side walls are week and are not the right load rating required for this type of car.
But hats off for the T1R's
I drive like a nutter and they are not bald yet after 5000 miles

Ok - lets move this up a gear. Whats the load rating on the standard fit 19" tires... at the moment my fkens are rated at 600kg on the front and 775kgs on the rear which equates to a 90 and 99 load rating respectively.

Searched and found it. Standard is 93 which equates to 650kg so this could account for the floating feeling from the front end now..? Mind you its the back on mine which feels loss... so back to the drawing board I guess!

The 20" rims wont be helping, everytime ive put bigger wheels on a car its mad the handling worse imo.

big wheels = for show, they are heavier and will effect handling and steering as there is more turning mass. Also requires more tourque to turn a larger wheel than a smaller one. Of course on the flip side they allow bigger brakes

Not bigger in rolling dia soon as once Ive fitted 285/25 tires the RR is the same as standard 19's... do the maths to see.
