It's a great game; I am a man with no rhythm at all but have managed to complete quite a few songs so far. Very addictive!

Never played it but there is a reasonably good South Park episode about it.

It teaches you to play a plastic fake guitar shaped properly. Instead of strings, there are 5 buttons which your left fingers have to press in time to moving symbols on the screen.

Great for eye/hand co-ordination.

If you hit the 'notes' at the correct time, the guitar rifts on the chosen song are completed and the better you are, the more complete the song is and thus gains you more points.

Great game.

So, it's, er, absolutely nothing to do with a guitar then. confused

You could of course just buy a real guitar and learn to play it. Or am I being too practical here?

Good fun but GH3 lacks the compulsiveness of GH2. I played GH3 through on easy and think that's maybe enough. I got on to hard on GH2.

It's all about perception, it may not be anything at all like playing a real guitar, but it is probably the closest any of us will come to feeling like we are Slash after a solo and a few power chords. smile

I think it bears more resemblance to the remains of an electric organ lashed to a length of wood. hehe

banjos are hard to play but I think that is sort of "medium" in terms of real banjo difficulty.

Awesome game! Slowly getting better. I find that its just getting used to the transitions of the buttons and chords which is something I'm struggling with.
I shall be practising more when I get my Xbox back after the RRoD.

I have played the guitar for 20 years and I have to say that the idea is good. The major flaw though is that the "dots" don't arrive at the finish line in time to the music. So you have to do it visually rather than to the music which is extremely off putting and ruins the game imo.
