Power steering....then NO power steering!

Took the car out to get a curry - all of 5 miles. All fine.

Started her up after an hour and no power steering! Drove for a couple of minutes then turned off the ignition and re-started her. Power steering back again!

What's that all about then?

ALSO... there is a squeak/squeal when turning the steering wheel to the right, although not to the left.

Suggestions?

fecked if i no. mine done the same yesterday.drove to petrol station fine then drove away with no power steering so stopped and restarted and was fine again .done the same a few months ago 2nd time its happened and just turned off and restarted ok ..very strange

That's helpful. I washed the car shortly before hand, and used a power wash to remove 2000 miles worth of Spanish dust and dirt. So water may have got in.

Looks like I'll be taking the wheel off to replace the fuse then.

beware Tony have known them to go up in smoke the power steering pumps, and they ain't cheep either

Sounds like the fuse or bad connection to me. Cant be anything else because the circuit is a simple one. Unlikely for a TRV I know !

BTW it was the relay, in the engine compartment. Finally gave up the ghost and stopped working completeyly.
