Do I need to use a baffled sump at Rockingham on a 160bhp K series S1 running standard suspension and tyres?

Have asked on seloc but all quiet so far....

Cheers

Tom.

While there's no guarantees... I'd say you'll probably be alright (assuming you aren't thinking of racing round the full oval for a few hours).

Plenty of K series cars run a lot of trackdays without - mines been fine round Spa without.

Thanks, that's what I thought but wanted to check.

Tangent: I haven't got a remote thermostat or 82 degree thermostat yet either (the car is new to me) - are these a 'must have' or a 'nice to have' for track days? The head gasket's already been changed once on my car FWIW (PTP head upgrade).

Plenty of people track the Elise with no modifications.

Should be OK. A baffled sump is on my 'nice to have' list but I've had no problems in three TDs and know of plenty of other cars that are tracked with the engines untouched.
Obviously just keep an eye on the oil level between sessions.
