Just fitted Mod-Wise Boot release
Discussion
Well after some huffing, puffing (and a bit of swearing) we have managed to fit the Mod-Wise boot release kit to my Chim. Seems to work well and means once the car is unlocked you can simply open the boot by holding the key fob over the sensor.
Probably would have been easier to fit if we had read the instructions properly. Had the thing half installed and was hunting round for an illusive purple wire when we re read the instructions. First line "on the passenger side of the car", s*** of course we were poking around on the drivers side. Ah well start all over again.
Good solution though, should come in handy for getting in and out of the boot at Le Mans.

£32. Good guys, send it straight out to you.
The hardest part of fitting it was getting the sensor somewhere easy to reach and where it was sensitive enough to dedect the magnet. They suggest behind the number plate but we couldn't get this to reliably pick up the magnet. In the end we poked it through the lense cover for the number plate light. Means it is on the outside of the car, but basically out of sight. Can touch the magnet right to it.
I would also get yourself a spare fuse and fuse holder. They soldered a fuse directly into the circuit, which we managed to blow. Easy to change now, but if it blows once installed a bit of a pain to change. Much easier to change now for a propoer fuse holder which the fuse can just be pulled from and replaced if need be.
