F1, in resale red, low miles, £50k. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am... Doesn't immediately shout scam (email address apparently matches username etc) but surely too cheap?

Second time it has come up in 10 days. I took the view it was a scam. Any dealer/trader would pay the owner more than £50k for a car with that spec and mileage. Its worth £60k on a bad day even in this market. Way under priced - scam in my view! Tread with extreme caution.

Always a good idea to get a hpi check. Not making a comment with regards to this car. But buyers will need to be alert to people selling cars they havent paid off, just to get some money to pay their mortgage.
Repayments on high performance cars can be pretty high, for someone with financial problesm crippling i would imagine. I was going to say exotic cars, but cars i used to regard as exotic seem to be coming out factories in big numbers these days.

Same seller has an Audi R8 which is £20k cheaper than the cheapest available on autotrader! Again a dealer/trader would pay more than he is asking!

Who in their right mind would advertise a car for less than he could get by driving it to his nearest dealer and selling it hassle free to them!!!

Car with that spec and mileage would sell to any dealer/trader for more than he is asking. He could walk in and get more money than he is asking as a trader without the stress/hassle/advertising etc. There must be something wrong it. When a deal is too good to be true ... it probably is!!

Possibility that it's not actually his car to sell?

Something doesn't sound right it has to be said.

A reply, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

!"Hello there and thanks for your interest.

The 2003 Ferrari 360 Spider F1 is in excellent condition with only 5793 miles on it. I moved to Germany with my job and I can't take the car here because it's very uncomfortable to drive a RHD in Germany .
The car is HPI clear and it's been annually serviced .There is no outstanding finance, still on UK plates and it has never been involved in an accident.
I've dropped the price a little looking for a fast sale . It's a great opportunity for you to get this car for this low price . I've done my calculation and with the money I get for it I can buy a similar LHD here in Germany.
The price I'm looking to get is £50,000.00 .
If you wish to buy it the transaction must be done through ebay's payment system.
Regarding the payment, you will be instructed to deposit the money to an eBay account.
They will hold and insure your money until receipt of the car in good condition.
That is how their buyer protection policy is working. As far as the seller concerns, i will be glad to know that eBay has the possession of the money during the delivery period. That is my insurance.
As soon as i will have the confirmation from eBay that the funds have been deposited to their account, i will immediately start the shipping process.
You will have 7 days to test and inspect the car.
If you decide to hold the car, then you will have to authorise eBay to release the funds to me, and the transaction will be completed. If you will not be satisfied with the car, you will be able to send the car back through the same shipping company, and ask eBay to return the funds to you.
Though i am sure you will love the car and will not want to return it, it is good to know that you do have this second option available.
If it's not as described, I will arrange to ship it back on my expense and ebay will refund your payment.
I want to point out that I am after a fast transaction, with no delays.
If you are interested in buying it under these terms please email me your full name and shipping address so I can start the transaction through Ebay.

Thanks "

I'd gladly deposit £50k in an ebay account then sit waiting at home for the shipping company to delivery this car. Not.
