Fun with a Furby and an Aston
Discussion
My word, what fun.
I've been at Chatsworth all day, helping man the carparks on the MGOC Kimber run, which involves about 200 cars. Decided to take the long way home to have a bit of a hoon in the Boxster, so made my way over and did the full length of the B5053 which passes through Longnor. Bloody road surface hasn't half deteriorated though, and i see they're closing it for 16 weeks.
Anyway, was then on the A523 towards Ashbourne and picked up on the tail of a young lad in a 4 door Farbia tdi, cooking version not Vrs or owt. Flipping 'eck, don't they go? The lad was really driving well and i had no wish to overtake him, and the car looked really agile and well balanced as it took the crests and turns in its stride. What a cracking little car! Anyway, i thought it interesting 'cos right now i actually can't remember seeing an ordinary hatchback being driven so well and so quick so that makes it very rare.
At Ashbourne we parted company and i took the A515 towards Sudbury/Lichfield, and then had a bloody wicked black Ason Martin behind me, so i gave the Porker full bore up the long hill out of Ashbourne, just out of curiosity really. Of course the Aston was quicker and got me at the top of the hill. I was thinking i should let him pass (i wasn't going to do anything stupid like try to keep him out on the wrong side of the road or owt) but i was sort of worrying that he might be quick in a straight line but not so keen on the twisty bits, but by gum i was wrong. He really hammered the corners and i had to work hard to keep up, it was great fun and the Aston looked bloody wicked. Had it been a clear road i don't think i'd have seen much of him. We had to do some overtaking, and then he took a right towards Marston Montgomery way, i think. I followed him just for a bit of fun, but the road was too bumpy really for a proper play. I was impresed at how well the Aston was doing over the bumps though. Anyway he turned off again and i didn't follow 'cos he might have been going home and i didn't want to end up outside his front door.
Fantastic looking car though. I'm not sure which model 'cos i can't keep up with all the versions Aston keep bringing out, but it seemed brand new, had trick front indicators, car was black all over with silver/black numberplates with a V8 number.
So, either of these two anyone from here? Fun with a Furby and an Aston, who'd have thought it? I've posted this twice just to see if its anyone on PH.
