I'm afraid the time has come to sell up, for various personal reasons I'm not driving the elise as much as I used to (job, family, etc etc) so rather than him sit outside gathering dust I think it's time for a new owner to enjoy the pleasures of ownership.

I'd welcome comments on what I should expect on price - looking at PH classifieds a car like mine gets advertised for all sorts of prices.

2000/V Elise S1
66,000 Miles
S2 Damper upgrade with Bilsteins (by Sinclairs)
JanSpeed Exhaust
Recent Toe-links
Recent Throttle Body
Sony Head +CD Changer

I've kept the car well - always using eith B&C or Sinclairs (depending on which side of London I'm working on) its had two cam belt changes, last one in late 2006 at Sinclairs.

Next service is due now and will be an 'A'

Consumables are OK - tyres are all 5mils even front discs and pads are fine, rears will need changing in 2000 or so.

So what do we think for price?

Should I get the A and the brakes done, will the fact that it needs this put off the average buyer?

Thanks in advance
J

If it were me buying, i would take the money off the cost and get the service and brakes done myself. However i would pay for it to be looked at professionaly. Looking at the other ads they you are probably looking around £8k-£9k, just MHO.

Its difficult to tell because nobody knows what actual sale prices are of those advertised. FWIW I payed £8k for a similar mileage and age S1 111s but that was in Novemeber when prices would likely be lower. That seemed cheap to me at the time, so maybe you could push for £8.5k?

I'd say around £8.5K, but advertise it for £9K and start from there ... Gives you some movement to negotiate or you can choose to hold firm and wait for someone willing to pay your asking price - Now that summer is on the horizon, second hand prices will increase.
