They look like Sports Racer lightweight forged alloys to me ...

Looks excellent though - The black wheels set off the titanium perfectly - Welcome to the fold thumbup

That's because that is what they are - a concession from Lotus as they ran out of black Elise wheels after I placed my order! Result!

Did they give you the full Sports Pack for free? redface

Or did they just put on the sports pack wheels and wider front tyres but not the sports pack dampers/springs/ARB?

eitherway that is a good result those wheels are worth a fortune... look after them!

PS: Love the top gun aviator goggles/specs ;D

C'mon this is Lotus - they only gave me the wheels and tyres!

I park about 3 feet from the kerb to avoid any damage

Also have air con, touring pack and T/C as extras

Blonde wife comes with aviators as standard and is now run in and due for a good service!

Seems a bit wierd they'd give you half an upgrade :/ If you read all the literature on this subject they always position the sports pack as a kit and if you just bolt on one part of it that it would upset the balance of the car. So either all that is bulls**t (likely) or they bolted on some wheels and tyres that aren't going to really work all that well with the stock suspension... any experts on here??

That looks very nice indeed. I think you need to upgrade her exit pipes though.

If i'm correct, the front pair of forged alloy wheels are available in two sizes: The larger Exige size, which is shod with 195 width rubber, and the narrower Elise Sportracer size, which is designed for 175 width tyres. The OP's car looks to have the latter and the tyres look like 175's to me, in which case no worries.

If you simply bolted the wider front forged rims onto an Elise R and wrapped sticky semi-slick Yokohama tyres around them, you may well have a problem as the standard suspension components would be receiving much higher loads.

To the OP: my Elise R is the same colour as yours. Nice and subtle tone of paint. Good for making fast, yet discreet progress biggrin. I wasn't sure about black wheels, but after seeing the pics of your motor, I reckon they look really good. I'd love a pair on mine; they give a significant saving on unsprung weight compared to the standard jobbies.

Cheers Saied

I went to the dealer intent on white or red, saw an '07 car in storm titanium with the black wheels and knew it just looked "right" - it looks even better with a colour coded hardtop

Would have bought one, but just ran out of budget

Checked wheels/tyres combo and you are correct with the dimensions - so no worries - thanks for the info
