It's a bit slow on here today and I'm bored at work so ... Any excuse to make a new thread! biggrin

Whatever happened to the Exige Espionage? It makes an appearance in the XBox 360 game Forza 2 as a 'unicorn car' (Only available in the online auction, very rare!) and was produced in conjunction with the tailors Gieves & Hawkes, but did anything come of it? Was it a one off model sporting a one off interior?

Interesting!

That's NOT the Espionage in the classifieds - it's "based on". Imitation and flattery, I suppose wink

The Espionage is sat on my drive. It'll be at Snetterton Tuesday next week.

ETA - just had a look at the interior of the car in the classifieds. The interior is nothing like my car - I guess G&H had nothing to do with it. The pinstriping on the outside is hand-laid vinyl stripes, whereas the whole viper-stripe on the original is a high-res print, with a stripe pattern that matches the G&H cloth on the interior - very fine stripes with a diagonal slash stripe behind.

I notice nowhere does the seller say that it was customised by Lotus - I think this is an aftermarket/DIY job. The actual Espionage isn't Nightfall Blue - it's "Bespoke Navy" according to Lotus - painted with a variant of Mercedes' Dunkelblau, and with the wide vinyls as the factory scheme... /EspionageBore wink

I'm pretty sure that the car in the Classifieds was originally bought from Dream Machines in Sussex. I saw it there when I picked mine up.

It's not an Espionage. It was quite simply a custom trim job and some vinyl stripes. The stripes may now be painted as I beleive the original owner was not happy with the results of the vinyl.

On display there as part of the Best of Britain exhibition from October to December 2005. Then run by Lotus GM (Heathcliffe Robert-Shaw) as his company car for 2700 miles.

Then bought by me biggrin
