Right.... my celica is drinking fuel and i have no idea why! weeping Ive managed to find out that it averages 44 miles on £10 petrol (95 octane!) which is about 25p per fickin' mile!!!! What could be the cause of this?? Its doing my head in! yikes Have done an oil and oil filter change on the car with cambelt changed 10k miles ago. This is leading me to insanity as i cant afford to keep running it like this. Any help would be great guys.

Lambda sensor, the average lambda sensor only lasts 60,000 miles, the average lambda sensor never gets changed.

I'd say post it on the http://www.celica-club.co.uk forum, there's a lot of people on there who know quiet a lot about these cars.

And hopefully you'll get it fixed soon because normally it's really good on his MPG's.

I drove back to Holland (essex - kent - france - belgium - south of holland) last month in my 1998 GT and just used over half a tank and as i drove during the night i had my foot down for some long streches as well.

Wow that's more like GT4 terrain! As everyone else has said, sensors first and foremost - but you never know, you may have a leak in the tank - fellow CCUK member replaced his tank recently (admittedly he had a gen5 not 6) from TCB (Toyota Celica Breakers in Cornwall).

Thanx peeps! Think i will get the lamda/ air-flow sensor changed alongside the ecu reset next week. Hopefully it shouldn't cost a fortune till then. Was thinking of selling it and getting a newer st202 and getting that one sorted... sod it, too much hassle.
