morning all! just want to pick the old ph brains for a moment. had the griff (500) for about 2 months now and it has started to develop this fault. when cruising at constant motorway speed it simply loses power. if i then power on, all goes well again, as it does if i knock it down a gear. but then a minute or so later it happens again. car is fine when accelerating/decellerating. just seems to happen when travelling at a constant speed. hopefully someone can point me in the right direction and thanks in advance for all your help! thumbup

Loss of engine power or total loss of power from electrical circuits as well ?

I used to get this with a broken 100amp fuse in the footwell, that was cracked enough to die cruising, but would start again . .. damned annoying but easy enough to find and fix.

complete loss - or just a misfire?

not a misfire. complete loss. power only returns when throttling on

assume the engine is still firing? idling? or does it stall? assume no as you said when you release and repress pedal it goes again.

so I would ges it might be the throttle pot?

Sounds very similar to my car after 2 months of ownership, it would accelerate and if lifting off would die as if the ignition had been turned off?
Luckily I was on my way to Neil Garners for something else so he saw the problem, one reset of the ECU later and it has not mis behaved since, fault code shown was the potentiometer, if it happens again a new one will be fitted but so far...

Can be loads of thinks as there are loads of components in the electrical system to the engine, for me it was the ignition amp breaking down. Have you checked if the leads are plugged on correctly?

Best take it to a garage to avoid the endless replacement of parts until yo find the weak one.
