I am the proud owner of a black/crema 360 spider which i am rightly smitten with, and have owned for a year. Last week I had trouble selecting second gear which i have been told can be a common problem and normally due to a plastic bush splitting in the box. Fortunately I still had 2 days on my warranty and promptly rung the main dealership to book the car in for inspection. I was told that because it only had another day to run, and that wouldnt be long enough to diagnose, and open a job card so therefore id have to pay for the diagnosis and work myself. surley if i log a problem with a dealership, it is down to them to note my issue and look into the problem as soon as they can. Is this normal behavior from a main dealership providing a Power Train warranty or is it a case of useless customer service skills and a salesman that cant be bothered with my issues now he has my money.

Im not impressed Ferrari!!!

I'd go and kick up fk, you reported the problem within the warranty period, they should bloody well fix it.

Listen up.

Drive the car to the dealership, and LEAVE IT THERE.

You paid for 365 days of a warranty, the problem occurred within that time.

Don't take any sh't on this. And ring Ferrari, in Italy if necessary.

Exactly what i did. the dealership is miles away from where i Live so I asked if i could take it to a local dealership. Frotunately a good friend of mine knows Jeff Fosker rerally well so he has it in his workshop also replacing the bush and the the rear boots so im voting with my feet. i would have taken it right to the top had it been anything more serious though. Imagine how miffed you'd be if you were facing a £2k bill and got that response.

well

TTFG Ferrari.
WTF?!

So you had a Ferrari warranty, and rather than drive to the nearest dealership and leave it there to be fixed for free, you elected to pay someone to do it?

Bonkers.

Never forget the phrase that often accompanies warranties and guarantees: "in addition to your statutory rights".

Warranty is irrelevant, except that it makes things easier. One complication is that legal liability rests with whoever you bought the car off.
