Dealers or Stealers? or just Factory pricing?
Discussion
I've decided on getting a new set of wheels for my 3R and the factory told me to go through my local dealer. I also thought I'd ask about a replacement windshield washer bottle at the same time as mine's got a hole in it.
After patiently waiting for a phone call on the price I nearly spat my cup of tea all over the desk when he told me the prices below:
Set of 3R wheels £1600 + delivery + vat!
Windshield washer bottle £54.63 + delivery + vat!
Where on earth do they get these prices from?
I've checked a few websites online for different wheels that look similar to the standard 3R ones but can't seem to find any in both 18x8.5 and 18x10. Does anyone on here know where I can get similar ones from?
Also there is no part number or any writing apart from windshield washer on the actual bottle so I'm a bit stumped as to where else I can get a new one from. I had a got at fixing the leak on it but it's a slit down the inside of where it mounts to the metal bracket so had no luck.

They all do that(washer bottles) the higher price is because the washer motor is att. look at some kit car supply sites, you will find it! After patiently waiting for a phone call on the price I nearly spat my cup of tea all over the desk when he told me the prices below:

Wheels....well looks like the price has gone up around £400 since a year ago or so, so guessing dealers are adding a margin/Noble put up the rrp.
Have you looked at the Noblemods site. Comp MO's about £600 less and much much stronger. Also dynomags and the others that twerlie and Adrian have (forget the name)proper split rims but those will cost at least double that, or you could go mad and get some CF Dymags...bout £5.5k!!

If no-one bothers buying from them maybe they'll get the hint.
Want a bet? They were over double that at one point....
.I had a look at the ones on noblemods but prefer the look of the standard 3R ones. There seem to be quite a few that look like them, 10 spoke, but trying to find ones that are done in both front and rear seems a bit of a pain.
Does anyone know what the offset is on the standard 3R wheels?
And without me taking one off and weighing it anyone know what they weigh?
as for £1k per wheel?!?! was anyone stupid enough to pay that lol?

A lot of people have spent a lot of time trying to get other rims to fit...2 problems...1) 4 stud. 2) unique offset.Does anyone know what the offset is on the standard 3R wheels?

Good luck.
Apart from custom rims, the ones suggested are the only ones.

aaahuuuuum, here are some that are about 18lbs per wheel, a decent weight savings over stock units, but not quite DYMAG and ............ paid equivalent GBP 1,950 for a set of 4 a year ago here in the US.Good luck.

Here's a black on black version, which as you can see has been on track for two years now with lots of abuse, and excellent relieability.
