Discussion
This Sat & Sun - 19th & 20th of April, is the Masters series called the 'Grande Passione' at Donington Park. It features Grand Prix Masters, World Sportscar Masters, Proto 70's, Gentleman Drivers, Under 2-litre Gentleman Drivers & Sports Racing Masters. A full time table of qualifying & racing can be found here :

According to the Donington website, infield parking on Sat & Sun is £30 2 DR and £50 4/5 DR.
Not sure if I will be going at those prices though. I may wait untill Mon 5th of May for the Top Hat Saloon car racing.

I have just phoned the ticket line regarding the prices. If I turn up in a 2 door car on my own, the infield parking is £30. If I turn up with a passenger the price is the same. If I turn up in a 4/5 door car on my own it will cost me £50 !!. This price is per day don't forget. It is trying to encourage car sharing and cut down on the number of cars attending I was told. Well it will cut the number of cars attending because I certainly won't be going. I was looking forward to this weekend too. Bloody rip-off

Truely insane idea, who in there right mind put forward that idea at the entry price meeting, 'I know we've got loads of cars driving round and round in circles lets offset the carbon by not having as many cars drive here to watch'
Would love to see a group drive to Donington in what ever cars they liked, parking in the Donington Collection carpark and then doing the student record breaking stunt of 30 people in a Mini to get in for a £1 a piece
Just hope this isn't the start of things to come, but then the drive down to Mallory Park is a lot more fun.

I reckon you could get quite a few in the back of Chevy53's truck....

Is this just for the infield parking though? I presume you can still buy tickets pp and park outsdide in the normal carparks?
Yeap, at £19 each, so if you've got a 2 door car (with 2 people in it) it's cheaper to park infield, if you've got a 4 door car (with only 2 people in it) it's cheaper to park outside and walk in.

I was only stating what it would cost me personally to attend this and the other meetings mentioned. I agree it would be less expensive if you had 4 or 5 in the car, but seeing as I attend most events on my own because I like to take one of my classic cars along, this would be an expensive weekend.

Same here - just me and my son usually attending, seems to have priced us out of attending this event!53chevy said:

Why don`t you just pay the normal £19 entry price?revolvor said:
The catering at Donington could also do with a few lessons from the pod.
Too right, had to laugh last Sunday as the catering van over looking the old hairpin (and the only one in the infield I think) closed just as the racing stopped for lunch.
I appreciate the point of 'you can still get in for £19' but you'll be walking a long way from the outfield car park to some of the best viewing areas, if you have small kids this isn't much fun, and having the car close by helps with carrying packed lunches (see above point
) and if the weather takes a turn for the worse having a cold and wet otherhalf/child isn't much fun either. Last Sunday it was nice to have the car 10 feet away when it started raining, the circuit isn't exactly over run with sheltered places to watch.Gassing Station | Midlands | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
