Popped in to see Mark on the way home yesterday and he was showing me his new suspension offering and said there were 7 or so cars running about with it installed. Anyone on here with it fitted got any feedback on how you find it on the road? At the price quoted it seems a reasonable deal so just wondered how the owners with it are getting on.

Also got to thank Mark for his time yesterday and the run out in the superchared Ro - hope the stains in the passenger seat came out okay Its no so much a fast car but the speedo reads Warp Factor instead of mph. Also had a look round the 730bhp car he's done for a customer - very nice engine set up and neat boot install of the fueling system. Can only imagine how much faster that thing is over the 520bhp car he had me out in - think I'd be needing a nappy.

Did you see mine there, black 04 CV8, black wheels, and four spare wheels where the back seats used to be?

yes I did - something missing from the engine bay though - couldn't quite put my finger on it Liked the matt black wheels - what were the ones in the back - couldn't see what they were? Mark was saying you're turning it into a drift car.

same as the matt black ones, just some spares for skidding.

yes sadly I turned my engine into a smoke machine after cooking it (three sets of rings, mains and a slightly scored barrel, oops), hence the big part that was missing. Not so proud of that.

It will be coming back with fully adjustable suspension (D2), kaaz diff, harrop diff cover, headers, forged rods, forged pistons, cam, arp bolts, 12psi crank driver SC, swirl pot fuel system, balanced, baffled sump and a few other bits, can't remember. Already intercooler, quick shifter, AP's, cat back, HID's, boost gauge etc.

soon the wait will be over.

Thinking about totally striping the inside and adding a cage, not sure yet.

You will love the Kaaz diff delmeekc! What suspension are you going for?

got a set from New Zealand, D2 adjustable, look good and will see how they go, can adjust everything. ride height, 120mm, damper position within strut and external top adjustment for damping 36 way. Alloy too.

Will see what they are like, replacing HSV lowered springs and dampers.

soon could be right - think Mark had just taken delivery of some of those parts when I was in last week, certainly he had a harrop cover, cam, arp bolts,d2 kit etc in the workshop. Be a bit of a monster with that lot done - assume you're looking for 600hp+ out of the final package? If its not a cruiser or daily driver but purely for track/drift action then stripping it and a cage would probably be the best way forward, get rid of as much weight as possible!!!

For a cheap kit the D2 stuff is pretty good, i know a lot of supra's and evo use this setup, Kev atkins runs d2's on his time attack EVO.

I'd be very interested to know what sort of spring rates these coilovers use, if anybody is discussing them with Rapid GB.

you'd have to contact Mark directly but I do know he's using UK sourced springs with the coilovers, he did ask for them to be supplied with the kits but the manufacturer didn't supply springs to meet the spec he wanted to use for UK roads.

The set he has for me I got and they have 7.5kg springs, not sure if he is changing them or leaving them. I will see hoe they go then get them changed if required.

I think that works out at 420 lb/inch or 73 n/mm. Be interested to hear how you get on, I still found this too firm, although I was running minimum compression damping so it may have been down to the valving.

The ones on it at the moment are really stiff but once on the track sideways they are way too soft, fine for normal driving but too soft for drifting. Need it as hard as possible, not really bothered about the road as don't use it as a daily drive. I use my scooter. I think they do upto 20kg springs £100 a pair.

I've got a set of 90n springs which are spare if you're interested.
