E39 help/info wanted

I'm interested in getting an E39 523 or 528 - does anyone know if they had split folding rear seats as standard or whether it was an option (as the 3 series was)

If anyone has one, do you know if you can drop a mountain bike in the back without taking the wheels off? (the bike that is)

On the off chance, does anyone have one for sale in the Midlands for around £3k ?

On the E39Li 'Through load seat facility' (folding seats) is an option. The E39TO has it as standard. Make sure you get a six cylinder.

Mate, if the bike fits, it fits, if it doesn't take the wheels off.

No franchised dealers will have one for circa £3000, see the classified ads or get a BMW magaziene with loads of ads in the back.

I have one bike that I'll need to take that doesn't have quick release - just beacause of the amount of cycling I'll be doing I just want to know if it will fit without taking the wheel off.

Somebody must have tried to drop a mountain bike into the back of an E39 saloon before?

Go to Cycle world and get a quick release for £8.99.

You can't. Unless the hub is a quick release hub (i.e. it has a hole right the way through it for the rod part of the QR) then you can't just remove the nuts and replace with a QR.
