Standards at Tetre Rouge Campsite

We have already booked this campsite but was wondering about other people's opinion on it and it's facilities? Are the showers any good? Are the pitches numbered etc? Fenced off for security?
We have stayed on Beausejour for the last 4years - which as farmer's fields go is fine - but anyone else who has stayed here will understand the reason for changing - we dont want to get stuck if it rains!! Tetre Rouge was recomended to us though so hence the change.
I do know it's near the Dunlop bridge and bloody near the tram stop for getting into town for beers....!!

This year will be our 5th on Tertre Rouge, it's handy location-wise for the track, village, Carrefour / boulangerie, Stella Bar and the Mulsanne. Toilets / shower blocks are well maintained, security has been good with pass-outs required for entry. Pitches have been roughly marked but not numbered, if you get there early and have some form of elevation viewing from your pitch is possible. Neighbours have always been friendly, we had a proper range of national steriotypes last year, French who retreated when the dour-faced Germans arrived, the Germans were well-drilled and set off each morning in formation on a fleet of identical mountain bikes, crazy dutch with big clogs & scary fireworks etc. Hopefully all this will apply this year.
Slightly uneasy about extolling the virtues of Tetre Rouge too much.................... With the Houx Annexe under threat it might get a bit crowded.
Have been there last two years and it's the best site I have been on at Le Mans by far. You can see the track form many pitches and with the huge screens you can even keep up with the action elsewhere from your tent. Toilets and showers regularly cleaned.
Much of the site drains quite well if it pours. Bit of a walk to the village but v handy for the music on Saturday. Take your ear plugs!!!

We like TR, but we arrive on the Tuesday and so have a good choice of pitches, not sure I'd want to arrive late in the week. The Tertre Rouge corner end of the site is very sandy, good if it's wet, not if it's windy. A lot of the rest of the site suffered from the flooding last year. You've got the motorway running along one site of the site, and obviously plenty of noise from the track and concert, but then Le Mans isn't the place to go for a quiet weekend. If you camp by the fence on the track side of the site you'll have to get used to being gawped at all weekend. Our exotic and sporty convoy for this year is Toyota pick-up and Volvo S60, feel free to stop by for a beer.
