Central Locking Problem
Discussion
Hi, can anyone help?
The near side door doesnt lock with the remote clicker. The alarm sets but the door opens when I press the button under the wing mirror. And then the alarm goes off
About a month ago I had to have the glass in that door replaced (after someone thought it worth his while to break in and generally trash the radio). I guess the wiring in the door need checking? I would take it back to Offord who did the repair, but ......
Dont suppose it matters too much. Anyone can get in the roof and they probably wont find the button anyway!
Thanks for any ideas
Jeremy

I assume that the other door locks OK? If not, you might want to check your door contact switches are working. A bit of attention with a wire brush works wonders.
AFAIK none of the actual locking electrics are in the doors (correction, anyone?), and the locking mechanism itself is in the door pillar, more or less next to the seats. There's an access flap that hinges at the top and is "fixed" with velcro at the bottom. The lower edge of the flap has ambla piping on it on mine: just pull this and it should flap up. You can then see and fiddle with both the door release & central locking.
