Dartford Crossing.

"Can I get a receipt, please?"

"We don't give receipts, but take a leaflet".

If I'm paying them on a daily basis, twice a day for a couple of months, why can't I have a little bit of paper to put into expenses.

Am I being petty?

AIUI, anyone providing a product/service must give a receipt if asked.

No, it's not petty at all. If it's a one-off for a few quid, then yes, but if it's a regular thing, it could add up to a couple of hundred quid over a year.

Indeed a colleague once asked for a reipt and was told no. I don;t know how truckers who are paying substantially more manage without a receipt.

Having said that I have always put it on my expenses without the receipt and never had it questioned. I guess the alfernative is to drive up to the Rotherhithe Tunnel and back so the £1 charge is insignificant!

Sounds like a nice little expense scam. Anybody else know of any other companies that wont provide receipts and serve you anonymously?

How about a Dart Tag?

Get one, preload with some cash, get a discount on each crossing (7.5% rolleyes) and then hand the tag back when you don't need it anymore.

You can then print off a statement for your a/c at the end of each month that states usage & charge.

That's what I've done wink
