I've had my cerb for nearly a year and have just discovered that the windows auto close when you lock it!

Yep, I discovered that for the first time the other day too! Had mine near on a year also.

Mind you - it took me 6 months to realise that it actually did have sun visors - so well hidden!

Mine don't close when alarming the car, neither do I have sun visors, or am I missing something too?

LWs dont have the visors. To do with the revised roofline and the tint on the windscreen.
Think your alar should shut the windows. Mine does too. could just be to do with the sensors in the doors or the control unit in the boot. Disconnect and reset the box in the boot.

Wow you do learn something new every day. Thanks. I wonder how much weight my LW saved by doing away with sun visors. Desperate weren't they.

Lightweight = any excuse to introduce another derivative that will get round the SVA rules?

LW has/d lighter GRP for the wings & bonnet (I think). To start with it was the only car with "pods" headlights as well.....

LW doesn't stand for Long Wheelbase as a friend of mine thought it did !

it would be interesting to know the exact difference in weight between the LW and "normal" I'm betting it's minimal.

I think it was supposed to be 50-100kgs difference.

So take all the cr*p out your boot (oil, water, fuses etc), don't bother with air-con, remove all the stero equpiment, and hey presto you've got your own LW !

auto window closure was an optional extra which may explain why some do not have it!!

Optional extra ?

I very much doubt it, as a full closure system is needed to be classified as a Thatcham Category 1 alarm (which the Cerbera alarm is). If the windows don't close when the alarm is armed, then there is a problem with your car !

Edited becasue I can't spell !

Not sure thats true Oilly. When I had the cat1 fitted at BMW to my 8 series I was upset to find they disabled the closure facility. This was because its now considered illegal to fit them. Childrens heads/dogs etc. He did say it was european law and therefore affected BMW. So I guess thats no problem for TVR then.

Your right ! I've just checked the Thatcham site, and although most Category 1 alarms have the full closure facility, it doesn't have to be activated for the alarm to be a category 1 (which is why manual winder window'd cars can still have a category 1 alarm).

According to www.f1tvr.com/frame-exhilarating-package.htm (anyone know the owner of this car by the way ?), Cerbera's come with a "Full closure Cat. 1 alarm system", so if your windows don't close, then something isn't right... (certainly all the cars I've ever been in (about 10 Cerberas), the windows have all closed when the alarm was armed)....

That's Beckham's old car I think. Some of those pics were used when it was last advertised.

Indeed it is and it's being auctioned later this month,
no doubt to cash in on the current Beckham mania... yawn...

Go create some weather...
