Do you have a manifold looking for a new home?
Discussion
I have just removed one of my manifolds as it is cracked in a very awkward place. So I am looking for someone to come to my rescue with either a pair of manifolds or just the drivers side. I don't mind if the pre-cats are still in or out. I not really looking for a new Y-peice, just manifold.
So if you have a lonely manifold (or pair) collecting dust in a cold dark garage, and would like to see it go to a good caring home, once more to roam the country roads, then please PM me.
P.S seeing the Chim on the ramps everyday is killing me, so please HELP!!!!

I had the manifold crack in a similar place on my last Chimaera, pumped some exhaust repair paste through a mastic gun and tube right up between the four pipes as a temporary repair, but supprisingly was still air tight over a year later when I sold the car. The only thing you need to be careful of is to gently heat the manifold by running the engine on idle for about 30 seconds at a time to set off the hardening process, otherwise it will expand too quickly and blow out between the pipes.
If you intend to replace the manifold at some time anyway, you have nothing to lose.

I've got the same problem with a leak in this area. Fixing it with repair paste seems a simple temporary solution and I'm tempted to do it, but will this cause problems when the time comes to weld it? If you intend to replace the manifold at some time anyway, you have nothing to lose.
Can you saw the end off the manifold, weld the leak, then weld the end of the manifold back on?
(Not sure if I have interpreted where the leak is properly).
My V8S has had this treatment sometime in the past, and whoever did it made a nice job of it.
My view would be that you have absolutely nothing to lose getting your saw out to take a look, as you're intending to bin the manifold anyway.
